C.O.A.S.T. Fish Club has been meeting ever since 1977, and has continued our mission of passing on the knowledge of breeding & fish-keeping to freshwater aquarium hobbyists for nearly 5 decades.
In April 2025, C.O.A.S.T. Fish Club hosted it’s second annual AQUASWAP event! With the goal of producing a larger-than-usual turnout event, we successfully coordinated with local fish stores, hobbyists, and C.O.A.S.T. guests and members to trade, sell, and buy tropical fish, equipment, fish tanks, and more! This event drew over 500 attendees in total, an increase of 200 guests from 2024’s AQUASWAP.
In July 2025, C.O.A.S.T. Fish Club co-hosted the first annual MEDAKAFEST with the American Medaka Association (https://americanmedaka.org) and @nolansaquariumco in Santa Ana, CA. This was a great outdoor event in the back of Nolan’s Aquarium parking lot business complex. This event brought out over 20+ vendors and breeders and nearly 400 guests to the event!
On October 26-27, 2025, C.O.A.S.T. Fish Club partnered with @coralfish12g and @aquashella to deliver an amazing first-ever #Aquashella in Southern California at the Pomona Fairplex. We hosted our own 20×10′ booth space, complete with 5 featured breeders and inventory of their stock from our club. We had over 50+ containers and fish tanks at our booth, and promoted the freshwater hobby throughout the entire event, which is featured on our YT channel.
We had such a great turn-out at our events in 2025, therefore we will very likely continue hosting more swap-meet events and attending other conventions related to our hobby, such as the Reptile Super Show, the L.A. Pet Fair, Koi Shows, and more! so please stay tuned for future news and updates to come!

For the month of September 2024, we hosted Rob McLure at Verdant Vivariums in Fountain Valley, CA. Rob was gracious enough to allow us to record and share this presentation with fishkeepers across the world. Thank you again Bonnie at Verdant Vivariums for hosting us on short notice! In October 2024, C.O.A.S.T. Fish Club & Friends hosted our first inaugural C.O.A.S.T. Holiday Food Drive event, running from October 2024 through December 23, 2024. In this initiative, we partnered with our local fish stores to serve as drop-off locations for food donations from guests and members of our club, in support of Second Harvest Food Bank and OC Food Bank. In December 2024, we raised over 325 lbs, with a stretch goal of 500 lbs of food donated from our club.
